Reception Topic Web Spring 2 2019

On Friday 11th January 2019 we made a sprout stir-fry with our home grown sprouts from our school garden. The children looked after the sprouts by watering them, weeding around them and making supports for them. They picked them yesterday.
We stir-fried them with some garlic, onions and a little cream.

Everybody tried them (even Miss Vickers, who is not a sprout fan!)

Welcome to Reception

Our PE days are Tuesdays and Fridays each week.We keep PE kits in school each week and send them home for washing at the end of each half term.

Home school books are sent home every Friday with details of what we have been doing in school. Each child must complete a sentence and a picture about what they have been doing at home and bring it in to school on Monday to share with the class.

Reading books are sent home in your child’s reading folder, please hear them read as often as possible and ensure your child’s reading folder is in school at all times.

If you have any questions or queries, please do not hesitate to come and talk to a member of the team before or after school.

Many Thanks

Mrs Statham, Mrs Pickles, Mrs Miller and Miss Vickers

Learning to ride…

Progression to Pedals

The children loved their first session with Ross and James. Well done.  Learning to ride a bike at a young age significantly improves children’s learning. It develops fine motor skills, bilateral body coordination and gross motor skill which can help to develop their writing.
