Roger Dixon

Ex-Officio Foundation Governor while Vicar of St. Stephen’s Church.

Has been at St. Stephen’s since Feb. 1991. At present Chair of Governors. Member of Standards, Resources, Development, Staffing (Chair), Headteacher’s Appraisal (Chair) and Pay Committees.

Link Governor for R.E. & Collective Worship. Diocesan Link Governor (in the absence of a governor appointed by the Diocesan Board of Education).

Born and bred in Manchester. Ordained in 1980 and served in parishes in Droylsden and Rochdale, before Audenshaw. Both these parishes had Church Primary Schools. Enjoys Holy Land tours, sport (used to play rugby and cricket), music (large collection of vinyl records!), medium length walks, eating, writing and visiting friends.

Susan Edwards

Foundation Governor. Elected by church PCC on 12/02/17 for a term of 4 years.

Member of Standards, Staffing, Development, Resources and Pay Committees.

Link Governor for Maths.  Link Governor for Year 3 and Year 5 classes.

Lives in Audenshaw. Two children in our School (son in Year 6 & daughter in Year 2). Works in the Governance Department of a local NHS trust and has worked as a support worker for Mental Health Services. Enjoys reading, music, comedy, swimming, concerts and festivals. Is currently learning to play tennis (slowly)!

Vicky Lambert

Parent Governor. Elected by parents on 19/10/2015 for a term of 4 years.

Member of Standards, Staffing, Pay and Headteacher’s Appraisal Committees.

Link Governor for Healthy school and Health and Safety. Also link governor for Year 1  and Year 2 classes.

Lives in Audenshaw. One child in our School (a son in Year 4). Also has a 3 year old daughter and a daughter who has just started high school. Works as a Dental Nurse at the Manchester Dental Hospital. Enjoys crafts, reading autobiographies, travelling (especially round cities), gardening and baking.

 

Beth Lindemann

Staff Governor. Elected by School staff on 27/11/2015 for a term of 4 years.

Member of Standards & Development Committees. Link governor for Inclusion and SEND.

Has been a teacher for over 20 years in Rotherham, Hattersley and Ashton, before Audenshaw. Class Teacher for Year 5. Key Stage 2 Coordinator and, therefore, on Senior Leadership Team. Maths Coordinator. Enjoys reading, knitting and socializing with friends. Enjoys both taking part in and setting pub quizzes.

Cathie Masztalerz

Ex-Officio Governor as Headteacher. Headteacher of St. Stephen’s School since September 2010.

Member of Standards, Resources, Development and Staffing Committee. Advises Pay Committee.

Born in Sheffield but moved to Wythenshawe when she was 18 months old. Has lived in Wythenshawe ever since.

Has been a teacher for 35 years and loves her job. Has two grown up daughters. Enjoys listening to and playing music, friends, long walks, gardening and watching Coronation Street!

 

Ann Mizera

Foundation Governor. Elected by St. Stephen’s Church Council on 17/11/2015 for a term of 4 years. Long-serving governor who was initially a Foundation Governor, then a Non-Teaching Staff Governor and a Staff Governor before her latest role.

Member of Standards and Resources Committees.

Link Governor for Safeguarding and Child Protection (Special needs, equalities etc.).

Has been a Teaching Assistant at St. Stephen’s School, for 17 years, working mainly with Year 6. Has two grown up daughters, both of whom attended our school. Has a granddaughter in Year 4 at present. Enjoys walking, reading, sewing and flower arranging.

 

Andy Palmer

Foundation Governor. Elected by St. Stephen’s Church Council on 19/7/2016 for a term of 4 years.

Member of Standards, Resources (Chair) and Headteacher Appraisal Committees.

Link Governor for English. Link Governor for Year 4.

Has two grown-up children. Wife Sheila, who died in 2011, was a Midday Supervisor at our School, and a governor (initially a Non-Teaching Staff Governor then a Foundation Governor). Retired but worked, previously, as a policeman and support worker. Is at present Church Warden at St. Stephen’s Church. Enjoys listening to music, reading, caravanning, travel and helping at Soul Survivor, a large Christian event.

 

Sue Pike

Local Authority Governor. Appointed by Tameside Local Authority on 3/12/2016 for a term of 4 years.

Vice Chair of Governors at present. Member of Standards and Development (Chair) committees.

Link Governor for Governor Training. Link Governor for Reception and Year 6.

Along with her two sisters, attended St. Stephen’s School herself. One child in our School (daughter in Year 5) and a son who has just started high school. Plays significant role in Friends of St. Stephen’s. Works supervising adults on community projects. Enjoys cooking, baking, swimming, music, socialising, fund-raising for various charities. Volunteer for Home Start.

 

All these governors have signed documents stating that they have no pecuniary or non-pecuniary interests which will affect the fulfilment of their duties as governors.

 

Alison O’Connor

acts as Clerk to our Governors, but is not a governor herself.

 

VACANCIES

WE HAVE FOUR VACANCIES, AT PRESENT, ON THE GOVERNING BODY. TWO ARE FOR FOUNDATION GOVERNORS APPOINTED BY ST. STEPHEN’S CHURCH, ONE IS FOR A PARENT GOVERNOR (CURRENTLY RECRUITING) ANDTHE OTHER IS FOR A FOUNDATION GOVERNOR APPOINTED BY MANCHESTER DIOCESAN BOARD OF EDUCATION. WHEN APPOINTMENTS ARE MADE TO FILL THESE VACANCIES, WE WILL AMEND THE INFORMATION ABOVE.

 

It should be noted that all Governors have declared that they have no pecuniary interests or business interests in the school for the year 2017 – 2018. A register of these declarations is kept at the school.
